Director, Search and Social, MICROS eCommerce Services | TIG Global
Brian joined TIG Global, an online marketing company based in Washington, DC, in June of 2008 in the role of Director, Search Engine Optimization. In that role his responsibilities were to define and lead the company’s overall SEO strategy and provide direction for 500+ clients in the hospitality space. At the start of 2010, Brian earned the additional responsibility of managing the company’s social media division, while retaining his responsibilities within the SEO division. This interdepartmental merge lead to Brian's current title, Director of Search and Social. In this capacity, Brian is responsible for driving and developing both social media strategies and SEO strategies. In addition to strategy formulation, Brian spends time analyzing and diagnosing sites with SEO related difficulties, monitoring industry news/blogs/forums, and conducting SEO and social media tests, while also documenting and refining TIG Global best practices. Brian is often called upon in this position to spend direct time working on particular high-priority client accounts as well.
Prior to joining TIG Global, Brian held several roles with Marriott International, including eCommerce Manager and Senior Manager of eCommerce Field Strategy and Support. In these varied roles he developed hands-on experience in developing campaigns for paid search, SEO, email and display advertising, while measuring and delivering results using Visual Sciences (now Omniture) and other measurement platforms. As part of Marriott’s eCommerce strategy group, Brian was responsible for developing programs that would successfully enable Marriott’s 3,000+ hotels to propel Marriott.com into one of the largest travel sites in the world. In what seems like a previous life, when the Internet bubble was bursting in 2000-2001, Brian also worked as a web developer for a now defunct company named braingem.
In addition to his professional experience, Brian holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Babson College in Wellesley, MA with a Major in Information Systems and a Minor in Finance. Brian is also currently a Masters of Business Administration Candidate at the George Washington University in Washington, DC and will be completing his degree in April 2011.
