Since her childhood in Johannesburg, South Africa, Nicola has always been fascinated by the imaginative ideas and theories that emerge from the sci-fi genre, and this obsession continues to drive her curiosity around new forms of communication and technology.
As Performics’ business development lead, she continues her lifelong passion for innovation by establishing relationships with global brands that strive to be on the cutting-edge of the performance marketing industry. Her responsibilities include engaging with prospective clients, guiding strategic vision for new business pitches, and analyzing the latest digital trends.
Prior to joining Performics, Nicola served as director of emerging trends and insights at Moxie Interactive, another Publicis Groupe agency. In that role, she oversaw research and strategy around emerging technologies, media platforms, user behavior, and the bourgeoning mobile marketplace. Her innovative client work at Moxie included projects for Verizon Wireless, Maybelline, Garnier, Coca-Cola, PUMA, Microsoft, Cartoon Network, 20th Century FOX, and HP.
Nicola’s multifaceted background includes extensive professional experience in film production, production design, radio communications, digital marketing and trends research. Recently, her innovative thinking has helped win awards like the AIMA Most Effective Use of Video award for Verizon Wireless’ Snowy Surprise, the iMedia Agency Shoot Out for the Renault Laguna Coupe, IMA’s Outstanding Achievement Award and many others.
In addition to regularly speaking at industry and digital events including the Atlanta AAAA, AMA, Coca-Cola Media Summit and FutureMedia Fest, Nicola currently serves on the AiMA mobile steering committee and teaches a Digital 1 trends course at Creative Circus, an advertising school in Atlanta.
