For Vincodo, a search-centric digital agency, Tom Alison is responsible for providing strategic marketing leadership, developing multichannel marketing campaigns and helping clients integrate and optimize their operations for ecommerce and digital marketing. For companies including Travelers Insurance, Rooms to Go Furniture, Lasik Vision Institute, Drexel University and Tom provides a senior management vision and perspective to client opportunities and Vincodo’s work.
In addition to senior agency roles, Tom Alison has been on the client-side as a CMO, so he can speak to what a CMO expects and needs to know. As EVP of NordicTrack he was responsible for sales and marketing through all direct channels (DRTV, catalogs, and ecommerce) and over 250 retail stores plus 500 seasonal kiosks in malls. Previously he had been EVP of Marketing and Strategic Development for Home Shopping Network and President of HSN Telemarketing.
Prior to Vincodo was senior vice president of strategic development and marketing for SendTec Inc., an agency specializing in search engine marketing, Internet advertising and direct response TV. Tom got his advertising start on Madison Avenue as a VP at Wunderman in NYC. He then led a NY consulting practice doing new media innovation and product development for high profile clients including ABC/Disney, AT&T, Avon, CBS, General Foods, Microsoft, PBS, Time Warner among others. He helped launch the first cable TV home shopping channel in Korea. He has been involved in digital marketing practically since its inception when he helped Prodigy develop some of the first online shopping applications and its online advertising systems during the early evolution of the Internet. Since then he has helped many companies develop their online operations and marketing.
Mr. Alison has an MBA from Harvard Business School and an undergraduate degree in psychology from Davidson College. He is a contributing author of several marketing books and has been awarded patents for several new media targeting technologies including addressable TV advertising.
