Senior Director of Product Strategy, Category Solutions, Yahoo! Inc.
In his role as senior director of product strategy, David Kopp is charged with driving category-specific ad product strategy and field marketing. His marketing career spans over 16 years, including leadership roles in both client-side consumer marketing with Disney and the last 10 years concentrated on Internet advertising, including both search and display advertising solutions.
Since joining Yahoo! in September of 2005, David has led several key Yahoo! projects focused on innovations in social media in addition to his work on Yahoo! advertising products. Under his leadership, Yahoo! Groups launched a comprehensive overhaul resulting in substantial revenue growth in 2006. He also played a significant role in securing several social media advertising partnerships with major brands such as Doritos, Purina, and Travelocity.
Prior to Yahoo!, David spent three years at LookSmart, Ltd. as Vice President/General Manager, where he spearheaded a team that grew online sales 20 percent. Technology firm Sonicity, Inc. chose David as its president in 2000 to help launch the company and a major new product. In 1999, he founded toolbar startup Winfire and served as its CEO. His career path also includes stints at AdForce Inc., Synerdyne Corporation, and The Walt Disney Company.
He graduated magna cum laude with a concentration in Literature from Harvard University.
