Bryan has been a software engineer at Google since 2005. He leads the personalized search group, designing search ranking and user interface solutions that help connect individuals with the information they need. Prior to joining Google, Bryan received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where he worked in the area of multi-agent systems, specializing in distributed control systems and organizational design. He has also worked as a freelance programmer for Freeverse Software, where he authored the popular 'Burning Monkey' series of solitaire games.
