Greetings! We’re excited to host you online, April 13, for SMX Create. The information on this page will help you get the most out of your training experience. (Haven’t registered yet? Get started here!)

When is the event?
SMX will take place online, Tuesday, April 13 from 11:00am – 5:30pm ET. Check out the agenda for more details.
Those times don’t work for me! Are sessions being recorded?
Yes! In fact, all sessions are pre-recorded and set to debut at scheduled times to prevent technical difficulties.
The only portions of the program that will stream live are Overtime — real-time video Q&A with speakers (beginning at 2:45pm ET), clinics (beginning at 4:15pm ET), and community meetups (beginning at 4:50pm ET).
All sessions will be available for viewing on-demand immediately following their live broadcast — with the exception of clinics and community meetups, which will NOT be available for viewing on-demand.
How long will I be able to watch on-demand sessions?
All sessions will be available for viewing on-demand until December 31, 2021 — with the exception of clinics and community meetups, which are not being recorded and will not be available to replay.
How do I log into the event?
Click here to log into SMX — using the email addressed you provided during registration. Logging in will bring you to your My SMX page (more on that below). If you don’t remember your password, click here to reset it.
How do I watch sessions?
On April 13, each session on the agenda will have its own Watch Session button. Click this button to begin watching a given session.
If you’re watching live, you will be taken into a virtual lobby until the session is ready to begin. Be sure to watch the video in the lobby for tips to make the most of your SMX experience. You will be automatically taken into the session room at its designated start time.
If you’re watching on-demand — or if you join a session after it has begun — you will bypass the lobby and be taken directly into the session room.
What’s with the “Part One”, “Part Two” stuff on the agenda? Do I have to watch the sessions in this order?
The Search Engine Land experts crafted a two-track program that is designed to build your knowledge in a comprehensive, meaningful way. The structured agenda features two dedicated “learning journeys”: SEO and PPC. Each journey is made of four segments, with each one building on the previous. Think of them less as sessions and more like progressions.
For this reason — and for the optimal training experience — we recommend that you choose one track (SEO or PPC) to watch first from start to finish, beginning with the opening keynote, then progressing through parts one, two, three, and four.
Remember: All sessions will be available on-demand immediately following their live broadcast (except for meetups), so you can catch up with anything you missed and rewatch it all for maximum learning.
So… multiple sessions run at the same time? What if I miss something?
Don’t worry! Yes, all the SEO, PPC, and Solutions tracks run concurrently, but all sessions (except for clinics and meetups) will be available for viewing on-demand. We recommend you choose one path (track) to watch all the way through and watch the second one later on. See the agenda for full session details and times.
Can I create a personalized agenda?
Yes! Building your own agenda is fast and easy. Log into your SMX account and follow the instructions at the top of the page. Once built, your personalized agenda will be accessible via the My SMX link at the top of your screen (this link only displays when you are logged into SMX).
You’ll be able to start watching sessions directly from your personalized agenda when they’re ready to air. Don’t forget to visit the main agenda to see a complete list of sessions, speakers, and sponsors!
Can I ask the speaker questions during the presentation?
Yes! All session rooms include a chat box below the video player where you can enter your questions during the presentation. Remember: Sessions are pre-recorded, so you won’t get an answer immediately. Questions will be answered by speakers live during Overtime, which takes place at 2:45pm ET (one for SEO, one for PPC). You can ask questions throughout the day (our team will make sure the speakers receive them!) or hold your questions to ask during Overtime — either way works.
Can I get a copy of the speaker’s PowerPoint presentation?
In most cases, yes! Be sure to check out the “Dig Deeper” section in each session room to download a PDF version of the presentation (if available) and any other resources the speakers may offer.
I’m trying to watch a session but it’s not playing… what do I do?
Some browsers now have a feature that prevents videos from autoplaying. Press the play button on the video player to begin the presentation. If this does not work, please refresh the page. If you’re still experiencing a technical issue, use the chat box below the video player to reach out to the SMX team for further assistance.
The video is playing but I can’t hear anything… what do I do?
This is also likely due to your browser’s settings. In the bottom right corner of the video player, click the series of bars to adjust the volume. See below:
If this does not work, please check the sound preferences on your computer, including the sound output settings. If you’re still experiencing a technical issue, use the chat box below the video player to reach out to the SMX team for further assistance.
The video is playing but I’m hearing an echo… what do I do?
You likely have two instances of the session open in your browser. Close one to eliminate the echo.
Are transcripts or captions available for presentations?
While we do not currently offer this feature, if you’re using Chrome, you can enable their new caption feature. Click here to learn more about setting this up for your browser.
Do you offer any proof of attendance?
Yes! If you attend parts one through four on either the SEO or PPC track, we will email you a personalized Certificate of Completion and a nifty digital badge — perfect for sharing on social after the event. If you attend parts one through four on both tracks, we will send you two certificates — one for SEO, one for PPC.
Use your certificate to demonstrate your commitment to continued training, validate registration fees, or showcase your involvement with the search marketing community!
Can more than one person from my company attend SMX?
