Google Analytics. It’s the tool every marketer has on their site and can maneuver around reports like channel, bounce rate, and landing page. Yet all that data isn't as useful as it can be if you haven't defined what success is for your company, brand, or campaign.
In this inspiring presentation, you'll learn how to turn website data into a successful marketing tool, how to effectively report on goals reached, and determine other critical findings that can inform your next marketing effort or campaign.
We’ll also go over a checklist for defining website success that will help you organize goals in Google Analytics for user flows and funnels while you learn how to leverage the built-in attribution modeling of Google Analytics.
You'll walk away with a plan to tell your story with data, starting with setting goals, defining success, interpreting the data, determining where the wins really are, and effectively reporting it to management.
After this presentation, you'll be able to:

SEO For Developers Workshop - Day One
Detlef Johnson
SEO for Developers Editor, Search Engine Land
SEO for Developers Editor, Search Engine Land
Detlef is the SEO for Developers Expert for Search Engine Land and SMX. He is also a member of the programming team for SMX events and writes the SEO for Developers series on Search Engine Land. Detlef is one of the original group of pioneering webmasters who established the professional SEO field more than 20 years ago. Since then he has worked for major search engine technology providers, managed programming and marketing teams for Chicago Tribune, and consulted for numerous entities including Fortune 500 companies. Detlef has a strong understanding of Technical SEO and a passion for Web programming.
Welcome to day one of this workshop, February 24. Google's search algorithm updates continue to make old-school optimization less impactful and tools like CMS plugins and SEO platforms are handling so much more. As a result, we're seeing more SEOs wanting to learn more about the technical aspects of optimization.
Similarly, as developers continue to create innovative apps and interactive experiences online, there is a need for them to know how to do that work in a way that does not hurt or often enhances SEO.
SEO for Developers is where these communities come together.
Hosted by Detlef Johnson, this two-day workshop will explore developer communications and SEO-friendly coding through discussion and live coding demonstrations.

Google Tag Manager For Marketers And Analysts Workshop - Day One
Samantha Barnes
Director, Analytics & Insight, Bounteous, Inc.
Director, Analytics & Insight, Bounteous, Inc.
Samantha has been working with web analytics and implementation for over 10 years. She is a data advocate and consultant for companies ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 corporations. As a trainer, she has led courses for over 1000 attendees over the past 6 years across the United States. Whether it's tag management, analytics strategy, data visualization, or coding, she loves the excitement of developing bespoke solutions across a vast variety of verticals.
Welcome to day one of this workshop, February 24. Google Analytics tracks a lot ‘out-of-the-box’, but adding more measurements is essential for impactful decisions to have an edge over the competition.
No matter what type of website you have, you must leverage analytics to understand users’ experiences and paths to conversion. Agility, efficiency, and collaboration are requisites -- now more than ever -- so having the right tools makes all the difference. Marketing maturity is rooted in data, and tag management takes data collection, conversion tracking, and pixel placement out of the developer’s silo and into marketers’ and analysts’ toolkits. In addition, 99% of all websites that use tag management use Google Tag Manager, so adding this to your skillset is something that will last your whole career.
Join Samantha Barnes for this live, hands-on workshop. Together, you will cover the why’s, how’s, and what-now’s of working with Google Tag Manager — and how to lead the planning, testing, and execution of a full implementation.
