JumpFly, Director of SEO
In the 14 years I’ve been in the SEO business, I’ve worked with Fortune 100 companies and small businesses alike. I’ve headed up the SEO practice at consulting firms like IBM iX, digital agencies like ResourceAmmirati, and SEO agencies like Stephen Spencer’s Netconcepts. But I've also been the client – as the SEO manager at Groupon and the webmaster at Intel – so I know what it's like to try to implement sometimes-unrealistic agency recommendations. SEO is my passion: I married an SEO director, I’ve written the SEO articles at PracticalEcommerce.com for 10 years, and I’ve edited SEO books for O’Reilly – including “The Art of SEO.”
Ecommerce is my wheelhouse: I love the scalable performance improvement that makes ecommerce SEO a particularly valuable form of SEO. Page-by-page manual content optimization definitely has its place in ecommerce SEO, but scalable optimization provides large-scale opportunity for growth. For me, the overlap between scalable and technical SEO strategies is an exciting bonus.
