SEO Manager, Uncommon Goods


Zack learned the value of SEO the hard way. In 2010, he was heavily invested in building a location-based search engine for indie events. After months of sleepless nights and nail biting credit advances, Zack learned that none of the event pages on his website were indexed in Google. Diving into SEO books and blogs, Zack realized two things - one, he couldn't swing the site rebuild he needed and two, he loved SEO.

He threw in the entrepreneurial towel and started scouring job boards for an SEO position. He was lucky enough to land a role as an in-house SEO at UncommonGoods in Brooklyn. Since taking the position there, he has hired a small army and grown natural search revenue substantially with a strategy built on obsessive analytics, extensive outreach, diverse content development and high-relevancy link building. In addition to his SEO role, Zack manages the email program, oversees all skateboard testing, and takes any chance he can get to wireframe new site designs.

Originally a software engineer, you can find Zack testing the limits of his bike in the mountains of upstate NY, re-learning the classical violin he put down in high school, and trying to perfect the chile relleno. He lives with his wife and newborn son in Brooklyn.
