Julie Rutherford worked at several Internet startups during the 1990s, gaining experience in online publishing, email marketing and general marketing operations. She served as Director of Online Publishing for the International Herald Tribune in Paris, with responsibility for editorial, marketing, sales and technology/operations for iht.com. Since 2003, Julie has worked for WashingtonPost.Newsweek Interactive, where she has overseen a variety of programs including search marketing, consumer marketing, business-to-business marketing, email marketing, registration, commercial creative services, mobile development and customer care. She spent considerable time starting up the search marketing program for multiple business lines and brands at WPNI and has expertise in SEO and SEM. She is currently Marketing Director with a special focus on web 2.0 marketing including social media, mobile marketing, widgets and feeds.
In her "real life," she is a devoted mommy to 3 1/2 year old Henry and 5 month old David. Her husband Brad is a US soccer fanatic and Internet junkie who equips her with all latest tech gadgets.
